Acquisition: Microsoft Buys U-Prove Technology

Microsoft has acquired U-Prove technology in an undisclosed price, the recent aquisition will help Micrsoft in strengthening its online security it provides to its users with plans to integrate U-Prove into Windows Communication Foundation and CardSpace.

Stefan Brands will now join Microsoft’s Identity and Access Group along with his colleagues from Credentica, Greg Thompson and Christian Paquin. Brands says that he has rejected many buyout offers and venture capital investment opportunities as he thought the technology’s business model wasn’t strong enough. But now, the demand for technology has grown considerably and Microsoft, through its influence in the Internet, can influence both the client and the server sides of applications.
