Nokia has finally decided to acquire the 100% stake in Symbian which now lets Nokia to be in full control over Symbian. The acquisition will help Nokia in accelerating product and software developement and it can also serve as an open-source operating system for other handset makers.
Microsoft has acquired U-Prove technology in an undisclosed price, the recent aquisition will help Micrsoft in strengthening its online security it provides to its users with plans to integrate U-Prove into Windows Communication Foundation and CardSpace.
Stefan Brands will now join Microsoft’s Identity and Access Group along with his colleagues from Credentica, Greg Thompson and Christian Paquin. Brands says that he has rejected many buyout offers and venture capital investment opportunities as he thought the technology’s business model wasn’t strong enough. But now, the demand for technology has grown considerably and Microsoft, through its influence in the Internet, can influence both the client and the server sides of applications. Paypal division of eBay Inc. is in talks with the Israeli online risk and analytics tools company Fraud Sciences Ltd for a sum of $169. The takeover will help paypal improve and provide better security services to its customers.
Fraud Sciences founders Shvat Shaked and Saar Wilf and Chief Operating Officer Yossi Barak will join PayPal’s technology and fraud management teams. President and Chief Executive Gadi Maier will offer strategic and operational support during the transition period.
Google is planning to do some goodwill here to prevent domain names misuse..what google is planning is to introduce a system to detect a form of domain registration abuse known as domain kiting. In doing so, the company stands to lose millions in advertising revenue, though it may gain far more in user trust and goodwill.
