High end gamers will now planning for their state of euphoria as Intel ready to bang the market with new Skulltrail platform. Intel ready to launch core 2 quad Q6600 processor with a frequency of 2.4 G Hz. Intel’s Skulltrail is chip set based on X38. Skulltrail will support for two CPUs and also SLI. SLI has some extra features as compared to X38.
On skulltrail, SLI capabilities are achieved with an on-board NVIDIA MCP100 switch, without the use of an actual NVIDIA-designed chipset. This is the Intel extreme edition processor. Initially only one model has been launched using Socket J 771 processors. Skulltrail Motherboard equipped with eATX form factor, that’s why a big case will be required. Like intel server offerings Skulltrail will require FB-DIMM memory.

Lastly giving the full stop to all rumors about Tri Core Chip, AMD has announced the launch of Tri-Core Phenom Chips. The first triple-core Phenom processor will be launched in first quarter of 2008.On Monday, Advanced Micro Devices(AMD) organize a quick lunch meeting with a small group of press and analysts.
AMD has disclosed all their roadmaps of update, which company is going to be provided in coming years. According to AMD executives, company has planned to launch “Toliman” triple-core chip in 2008, a second “Heka” triple-core chip in 2009, plus a next-generation “Regor” dual-core chip in 2009 as well. AMD’s plans also for its 65-nm “Stars” cores are now essentially public. This triple-core Phenom processor offering the service lies between dual core and quad core.
